Plan Your Ohio Fall Foliage Tour - September 21, 2017

When the leaves do start changing, you'll want to take some driving tours to see the great colors. Before you head out, be sure to have your vehicle serviced at Superior Hyundai of Beavercreek, or better yet, test drive that new vehicle you've been eyeing for the last couple months.

Take State Route 745 and 257 from State Route 161 and head north to Prospect. You'll see many shades of changing colors on dogwood, oak, cherry, ash, sumac, cottonwoods and hickory. The buckeye turns mixed colors, as do the sassafras and the maples. Stop at the Delaware State Park for a picnic, a hike or even make a weekend out of the drive by camping out at the park. The park is located at 5202 U.S. Route 23 North, Delaware, Ohio, 43015.

From Perrysburg, take State Routes 65, 110 and 424 southwest to Defiance. You'll see tons of colors, plus you can stop at the Mary Jane Thurston State Park for a picnic or to get some great pictures on the six easy walking trails in the park. The park also features a three-mile trail, the Whitetail Loop Trail, for more photo opportunities. The park is located at 1466 State Route 65, McClure, Ohio, 43534.

From Damascus, take State Route 534 north to Harpersfield to see many of Ohio's fall colors. Stop at the Lake Milton State Park to walk along the beach or take a hike in the rolling hills. This area features hickory, white oak and northern hemlock. Be sure to watch for hawks, siskins and owls to add to your pictures. The park also features sheltered areas near the trees for perfect picnic spots. Lake Milton State Park is located at 16801 Mahoning Ave., Lake Milton, Ohio, 44429.
